I use a something like a backupz rear light (well 2 to be exact). Because the elastic won't stretch round the seatpost, I loop a posties elastic band through the elastic to extend it (put one end though then pass the other end through the first end and pull...) this extends it enough to go round the post.....
Works well on the front as well for oversize handlebars! :)
