Collecting an Ebay purchase from Hackney tonight at 8 and live outside London so don't know the area very well. I'm pretty "street" and "down with the kids" but my girlfriend is... well... a delicate princess and I just want to make sure I know as much as possible about the return journey. (bringing her for the muscle)

The route that Googlemaps suggests looks ok? I've been to Hackney before with no probs, but never at "night"!!!
Any suggestions about the journey?
Buy a gun, bat, blow dart, cattle prod etc?
Sounds soft I know... but she's one of a kind and if anything happened just because I didnt check for dodgy area etc...
