You're only considering it cos internet dad told you not to. No respect, this generation.
Hey, I've been oblivious to every single location up until the last three, and will probably be again for the next twenty, I was just trying to get up while I can.

Nice one, evo_--this is my ideal scenario, someone who hasn't taken part yet just bagging it. It's also known as Leonard Circus, by the way. The horrific 'sculpture' is a piece of 'public art' known as 'Hitchcock's Reel' which is meant to commemorate the fact that Hitchcock could often be found sampling the nightlife (cough) in this area when he was still in London.
The plinth it sits on was constructed because it wasn't possible to embed a counterweight in the ground owing to a fibre-optic cable. We're getting this junction changed in the next two years. I'd love to get that piece of toss away from the place altogether and to maybe have it stuck in Shoreditch Park opposite Gainsborough Studios, but that may not be possible. At any rate, the plinth is way oversized and will hopefully be reduced so that the junction can be improved.

Yes, it's quite extraordinary, even as London cranks go. There's always a much more interesting story hidden inside them, why they do this sort of thing. After he died, an agency apparently hired by his heirs tried to demolish it to have something else built on the site (which is in a conservation area), but the Council stopped them after they had knocked the top storey off. That's why it now looks even sadder than it did while he lived there.

Do it! Rhowe would. Probably has come to think of it.
Touché! Would have considered it if it hadn't been posted at the same time I left work :)
Unfortunately, I had an errand to run which involved riding all the way up to Turkey Street from Oxford Circus. For some reason I decided to go through Hornsey and then to SE beers before heading home to Stoke Newington. 6 mile commute became a 35 mile trek!
Good tags today, btw. I recognised the one near Old Street but I have to say I don't know the cat statue, nor did I know about the house of warrens - this game is as fascinating as it is fun and it's great to see new forum names appear as if from nowhere with photos of their bikes and to read about all the weird and wonderful places people know of in London.
One of the most stressful parts of the game (for me, at least) is getting the damn forum photo uploader to accept my images!

Completely off topic, well, out of London anyway, check out the Williamson tunnels in Liverpool Oliver. Another man who loved to tunnel with no apparent purpose but on a huge, industrial scale. It's a pretty amazing story.
Right, who's getting this famous cat?

Copy that. I had to use my Flickr site in the end and link to it...

... so back to the thread title - I say keep it as it is. date and all. it clearly works ok.
probably better to keep any debate out of the mods thread, they no like it. -

yeah sorry, I hadn't realised it was still an issue, just remember oliver and pete agreeing about the no-more-2010-ness (but have erased from memory any opinions to the contrary, because I'm rubbish)

I don't think I piped up at that point. I didn't realise it had been decided either way, I don't mind hugely, I just feel that it ain't broke...

Well done brain stew!
I know where yours is, but I am still trying to think up a tough location for my next tag (of bike)...

Just got back up to speed with this thread: great work all round;Oliver's tunnels very engaging; Stirling map work from 6pt and Brain Stew's thematic link as a rat tags a cat gets my approval.
Let's try to keep with animals for a while, eh? I can think of numerous beasts I'd like to include in the game.

Banksy's Always Faile rat, at the bus stop outside the post office thingummy on Mount Pleasant
But where is this?
Yep, although I think the ensuing darkness will prevent this going tonight.
Right, leaving work and heading to Norths. Will look again tomorrow to see where we are.
Goodnight folks.
