Reading some reports it another HGV was involved. Seems very serious. Hope it's not.

I just missed this walking to work this morning, happened about 9:45am. BTP quickly cordoned off the intersection. From what I could see there was a Range Rover with hazard lights on pulled over, that was the closest vehicle to the bike, but not sure if it was involved. The bike was a mess as you can see from the twitpic above. Cyclist was on the ground. Really hope they're OK, it looked bad.

That pic is junction Euston Road and Gordon St I go through it every day. They put an ASL box in a while back but it makes things worse as cyclists filter on the left to go straight on and you get loads of left turning non-indicating cars.

Fingers crossed, hoping a speedy recovery is made.

fingers crossed here too

Was just texted about this by a friend that saw the aftermath. Her comments echo what others have said about it looking bad.
Fingers crossed.

A friend at work saw this happen. I'm told the cyclist was on the inside of an HGV turning left and went under the wheels. This sounds really serious. Careful of those trucks everyone, and all my thoughts and well wishes to the unlucky rider. Get well.

Gordon Street is a stupid rat-run that should be stopped. It's interesting that you say that there the ASL lead-in lane really has that effect.
The bike here is on the SW corner, but of course you can't tell how it could have happened from that.
Always bad to have to wait until better info becomes available. I hope he or she managed to get off the bike before it was mangled like this.

I was stopped on another side of the junction and saw this happen. Cyclist turning left out of Gordon Street onto Euston Road was crushed by a HGV outside of him doing the same. Only saw after the initial collision so can't judge why, but it was horrific. Everybody around was screaming, I was terrified when I realised there was a person in there. It looked to me like he/she went under both sets of wheels of the HGV.
I was in tears the for the rest of my journey, this was one of the most awful things I ever saw. If anyone knows what happened to the cyclist please let us all know.
All my thoughts with him and his family,
Take care everyone

Sounds absolutely horrific. Have everything crossed they are ok.

Anthony, have you contacted the police as a witness? Witnesses are absolutely crucial to a proper resolution of such cases. The more the merrier--do give a statement even if other witnesses are available who saw it better than you did.
And if you feel you can't get over it, make sure you get some support. Even for witnesses, such crashes can often be traumatic and linger for years. RoadPeace will be able to give you pointers.

Anthony - I feel for you. What you've witnessed is one of my own personal nightmares.
What Oliver saying is very, very true.
I really hope the cyclist and yourself are ok. -

I haven't found any more info on-line yet. Give it some time.

I passed when this must have just happened yesterday and was hoping the cyclist was ok but 2hrs later I passed back on way from hospital and the road was taped off, the mangled bike was still there and a couple of students said he didn't survive. I've been so upset I've been looking for info hoping they were wrong.

I hope the above is not true.
My thoughts go out to all concerned.

^ Absolutely

My workmate who witnessed the accident contacted the police who said the rider's status at the hospital has been changed from 'fatal' to 'critical'. He was airlifted from Euston to the hospital as I understand it. Terrifying.

critical is better than fatal though, no?
Just overheard on twitter:
"RTA by Euston station, bicycle completely crushed; really hope cyclist made it out OK. cc @tweetalondoncab W-bound Euston Road closed"
