  • I'm sure you can write a computer program that could generate the pointless product reviews in most cycling magazines.

I might do that and sell it to the publishers. They'd save a ton, with no actual loss in quality.

  • Just noticed Brixton Halfords has two signs out for cycling mechanic wanted 15 hours a week . .

  • Wanted someone to help clean and polish bike parts ready for sale in a small local business.

This will be part time on a as-and-when-needed basis to begin with working with us here. With the possibility of taking stuff away to do if its easier, quicker and more efficient. The person will be required to take apart some of the items with care not to lose bits, confident using a small buffing machine (training will be given) and have excellent attention to detail. Pay will be on a piece by piece basis and how much needs cleaning/polishing.

We are still in the nursery at the moment so if you are interested please email us vintagebikecave@gmail.com

E-mailed but heard anything back. You still need anyone?

  • I emailed as well, heard nothing.

  • I have a friend who worked for them (the Bristol office) and they were great to work for. Nice people.

  • **FILLED WITHIN ABOUT TWO HOURS OF POSTING I'M AFRAID!***

Small but busy as hell motion graphics and editing company I know (based by Holborn Viaduct) are urgently looking for an assistant who can do their admin as well as keen to learn editing (if you know your way around avid or fcp it's a bonus but not expected to do full onlines - mainly help around the office and learn your way up).

They're a particularly nice bunch of people - not sure of rates yet but can find out.

    Immediate start available.

**FILLED WITHIN ABOUT TWO HOURS OF POSTING I'M AFRAID!***

  • I'm leaving my current employer mid-July, and they're looking to replace me.

I'm a business analyst at a small yet well known software company. My job involves analysis of business data (ie. not financials) for my boss, the finance director, and lots of other parts of the business (eg. marketing, strategy, etc.). I mainly work with SQL (database querying language) and Excel. You don't need to have these skills when you start (it would be a bonus), but you do need to be the kind of person who picks these things up quickly and well.

The only really necessary qualifications are a strong quantitative undergraduate degree from a top institution, the motivation to work hard and learn stuff, and a knack for interpreting data and dealing with uncertainty. Bonus skills (that would translate to a higher salary) would include experience at internet tech companies or investment banking, strong SQL skills, SAS or R skills, a CS degree, experience with "big data", applied statistics or data mining.

Fun work environment, great benefits (bonus, pension, health insurance, free beer), good colleagues. For a new grad the salary would be about £30k, and this rises in line with skills and work experience.

Timeline is to start asap so we can do a handover, but we haven't even got a rec into HR yet, so this is flexible.

PM me if you're interested. I don't want to mention the company name, as I don't want to have my LFGSS posts linked in any way to my employer. I'm leaving on very good terms to pursue extra study.

  • I have a friend who worked for them (the Bristol office) and they were great to work for. Nice people.

  • Any 3D people here? I need a freelancer for a job starting pretty much now. I need some basic renderings (all white surfaces, nothing photorealistic) showing proof of concept/short animations of a project I am working on. Anyone with previous experience doing architectural renderings for cities, etc would be a plus as I need the scene set in a city. The animation will be approx 20 seconds or so each and will consist of a grid of blocks that slide along the x axis at different times to for different patterns. There will be 5 scenes total (can give you more details when we chat) and the deadline is next Tuesday.

If anyone thinks they can tackle it or knows someone who can, please shoot me a pm!

    Thanks in advance.
