Bike Anti-Porn - When Things Go Wrong

You have a bike. You have a choice - make it 'practical' for touring / shopping / keeping you dry and you pretty much guarantee it's ugliness.

I see what you mean but saying all bikes that are practical are guaranteed to be ugly is a lie, I've seen plenty of good looking and highly functional bikes but equally how do you measure practicality?

Keep it free of anything superfluous to the primary purpose of a bike (getting you from A to B with occasional stopping) and you have a chance of making it look damn nice

Many of the bike posted in porn you and I would agree are 'damn nice' however many of those are race bikes which completely detract from the idea that bikes are for getting you from A to B

I think the point that we're all guilty of missing is that; Porn/Anti-porn is judged on aesthetics/looks both of which can not be quantified therefore personal preference is the only means of judgement
