2011-03-25 - Rider Down, Black cab hit and run

last night I was cycling through Camden and a cabbie overtook me, clipping my back wheel and knocking me over. Bike is ok thankfully as my face broke my fall. Didn't get a reg no. as was too busy working out what just happened. I asked around if anyone saw the reg but to no avail. Prick definitely saw me as I was in the centre of the lane and there wasn't a turning just before that he could have come from, so he must have known I was there.(sentence fail)

Arm is buggered and my face is a graze, with a peach of a black eye.

Have you contacted the police? Leaving the scene of an accident is a serious crime and they might be able to track down the culprit via CCTV footage.

Contact the police and then get down Camden and quiz the local shops for their CCTV, must be tons of it round there. Don't think that the police will bother but if you can find him then they wil be more interested.

Cheers guys. I'll look into contacting businesses in the area. Ironically it was on the corner of Camden Street by the British Transport Police offices!! Could come up with something cctv wise..

good luck, take photos of your injuries (and if they swell up even more later, take more photos). See if there's any council CCTV as well as shops (soon as you can because these often get deleted pretty quick). Did the cab have any identifying features (adverts on the side, slightly unusual model etc)? When you report to the cops get a crime number (CRIS number). As above - get in touch with police and look for CCTV.

If you haven't done it yet, join the LCC. Ask them for advice.

Something quite similar happened to me yesterday aswell, minus the faceplant, fully went over the bars though.. feeling sore today and my concor saddle is torn.
