Thanks for that. In the name of looks, would there be any affordable bladed spokes that people would recommend?
Aim for spokes is circa £25-£30 by the way.

I've been searching for a new hobbie for a while now and have finally decided to build another bike. I've only ever built MTB(x2) and a BMX. This ('79 I think) Carlton 531 belongs to my landloard and has been sat in the shed for a while, so I asked if I could have it, he said yes. So I've decided to step into the world of fixed gear. Anyway pics...
I litrally dragged it out the shed last night after work...
and I've stripped her down this evening. The BB and headset have had it and the seat post is dug in like an alabama tick, not sure how I'm going to get it out yet (blow torch maybe?)

I'd be interested too, was tempted by the 88mm one's a couple of weeks ago.
^ I'll be very interested in what these are like, please keep us informed

When stuff arrives I'll take photographs, check the weights and stick it in the Orient Express thread.
Tiswas may be joining me for postage reasons and he wants an 80-88mm rear, so I should have sight of one of those also.
These are all going to be tubs btw, based on Smallfurry's advice about carbon clinchers.

extraordinary amount of thanks goes to andy.w not just for driving 45 miles to pick up the bike but also pack them very carefully and posted it for me.
What the cunt is that??! ^

Cool, no problems - pics and a review would be great Dammit.
I'll be going for the tubs as they'd be for the track anyway, plus as a qualified engineer something tells me not to even look at chinese knock off clinchers!

Why would anyone in their right mind buy a heavy, cumbersome piece of shit to tour the hazardous terrain of South America??!
Fuck me, he'll be putting panniers on a Brooklyn Gansta next!? Oh.....

Bought this for £60, now it has been stripped of all the stickers using a hairdryer and then a bit of cooking oil to break down the residue. I was in the process of ripping all the gears off. Now she's a very smooth riding single speed soon to be fixie as soon as I find a reasonable wheelset.
There was a big patch of surface rust which I painstakingly sanded off and painted with enamel paint.
Was going to respray but actually the colour and character has grown on me. Plus its less likely to be stolen. There's no rust at all now anyway.

Who in their right mind would put a £1000 carbon fibre aero wheel on their Specialized Langster and ride it on the hazardous terrain of South London??!
DT Revolution are light and cheap, but I'd stick with Comps on the rear drive side to help with lateral stiffness.
