Has anyone had any issues with their cat throwing up a lot?
The vet's given us some "special" sensitive stomach food, but she's still puking. she's not loosing weight and is very healthy apart form this. she'll do it maybe once or twice every couple of weeks.

Often it resembles undigested food.
She's now on a strictly dry diet with this new food. She's a short hair, and it doesn't seem as though there's too much fur within the puke.
She's a short haired Tabby

yeah, that's why it's so hard to figure out.
All in all she seems fine, she just seems to blurt out whatever's inside of her and carry on as if nothings happened.

Puking once a week is normal for some cats. Maybe the food is too rich for him.
check if your cat has worms. sometimes they come out in the puke. Does her belly feel bloated.
I had one cat that ate too fast and swallowed too much food without chewing. he would puke about once a week.
Another cat had problems digesting processed food so I put him on raw food and problem was solved instantly. -

She does eat fast!
We just did the raw (natures menu), and still got puke. Was this feeding the cat Chickien thighs etc?
We just gave her a worming pill last week...
Thanks Loafheads. Think we need to try to slow her down on the eating front again.

Definitely try to slow her down when eating particularly if she's now on dry food as it swells hugely in the stomach. You could try soaking it in water before hand.
One of our cats was sick recently because she'd eaten a little bit of plastic bag (those annoying circle bits). Could your cat be eating random stuff/ nibbling on house plants that are poisonous to cats?
The other cat went through a pukey patch in our last flat when we had to keep him indoors, cat grass seemed to help him but it can make some cats sick.

I think that's one of the main theories but I don't think anyone knows for sure. I read something by a vet which basically said cats should be able to clear their digestive system without any assistance. How we have bred them/ the diet we feed them makes it necessary for them to have a supplement. Other theories are that they get folic acid out of cat grass, that it can soothe the stomach and inflammation. The only thing that seemed conclusive is that cats (both wild and domestic) eat grass.
If we have cat grass James (the cat) will eat it and with no ill consequences. He also used to nibble on the lemon grass plant until I over watered it and it died, very little interest in the catnip plant though. Higgs nibbles the coffee plant and my olive tree (very young, still indoors) has been investivated by a cat. I really should plant some cat grass.

casper atop one of the local fells.
casper jumping for a flying squirrel, the best dog toy ever. Its like a frisbee, but flies more stable and generally for longer time at a slower speed, also changes direction easily on the wind but stays upright, making it great fun for the dogs. caught on some expired film I found in a box on an me super + 200mm
new dog! rescue dog, though rescued from a nice home that due to illness could no longer care for him, originally thought he was 10, and lookign damn good for it, finally got the vet incubation card thing, which prooves he is actually 12, yet he looks and behaves like an 18-36month old dog.
here he is, bushy by name, bushy by nature. A true idiot of a dog, though about as kind and pleasant a natured beast that there could be.more here...http://www.flickr.com/search/?ss=2&w=21600043%40N04&q=collie&m=text

Why do show dogs have those peculiar names?
It's to do with blood lines and the parents, the specific lines will be detailed in the long winded and ostentatious names.
Mainly it's for breeding; champions pups are worth ££££

You get the same nonsense with pedigree cats. Lulu's mother is called 'Candy' by her owners, but her pedigree name is Glitterglam Golden Flame...

So the cat kept spewing and now my vet thinks she may be allergic to fish!
it seems crazy that a cat would be allergic to fish. We need to try a venison based gentle food now...

Tried her on raw meat?
Commie; sorry to hear that, very depressing.
