There is no funding available from BC, we were just going to use one of their "pre-paid" Velodrome weeekends (about £5ks worth of rental) as a kind gesture from them towards bike polo. These "pre-paid" weekends are no longer suitable until 2012.
You can hold a tournament in the car park if you want, but you'd still need a decent playing surface (this may be there by default), £800 per court for simple motorway barriers, or up to £3k per court for polo-specific sidings, not to mention any other bells and whistles, and important elements such as insurance, etc.
You also need to think about whether sponsors would want to be part of a car park event, possibly yes, but the awesome "Polodrome" element (and captive Bike Week audience) would be lost in my opinion.
