Half-link?

This is weird.

There are enough Langsterengers out there not having this problem.

i am an ex-langterenger, never had this problam

As there are two chain runs, top and bottom, does one link length come out of each dividing the movement by half the length of the double link?

shower was warm enough for a flaccid reading of 6 chain links... is it possible that 46/18 is just the wrong size for my bike geometry to get decent chain tension and I may need to get a 19 or 20t ring to make it work?

I suspect I may be making a dumb-arsed mistake..I finished up doing it in the dark in the garden by light pollution light...

I'll have to investigate half link chains then - for tonight, I've given up on the bike...tomorrow is another day!

A half-link chain would be a dumb-ass mistake.

If you end up going for a 1/2 link you can get them here. Or a cheap connecting link like this.

Fit smaller cog, go faster, HTFU.

happily, local bike shop cannibalised a half link from a bit of half link chain and problem is sorted (although chain is a little noisy - I'll see how it settles down and maybe start again if it doesn't bed down nicely!)
