Snip the offending bit off (the bracket, not your lard)?
You can't do this either, its the adjustment dial that is the problem. Could wrap my legs tightly in gaffer tape though...
Had that problem with an LD-610, mounting it vertically meant it was pointing down, horizontally it caught my legs - really annoying. Preferred it that way cos I could do the night-rider thing. Some kind soul however solved the problem for me, by nicking it. Replaced it with a Blackburn.
It would be cool to fit it sideways but as you say, thats even worse than having the bracket catching your leg. I'll just get some old style brackets I think.
