• So I'm finally putting my bike together after many dramas that have got in the way.

It's at the paint shop at the moment, should look pretty damn good when it comes out.

The next parts are the wheels. I managed to get some old bacon slicers off a guy who found them at a carboot sale, got them cheap!

The bike they came off was a real old track bike with these wheels, inch pitch drive train, so I'm thinking they're 27". I've compared them to some of my 27" clincher rims and they seem a bit smaller. Maybe it's more tubular vs clincher than 27" vs 700. I'll take them to my lbs and compare them to some others.

Has anyone got any advice about getting rid of the old glue before I try and polish them and rebuild them.

Also, any idea of 27" tubular tyres? I think continental still make some.

    Cheers,

    Alex
