• I've got a Nikon SC-17 flash cord which needs some attention. The metal hotshoe is loose in the plastic casing; the flash fires most of the time but the TTL functions only work when the flash is pressed firmly into the hotshoe - not possible when handholding the flash or when it's on a bracket.

I'm pretty sure it's a simple case of gluing the hotshoe down to the casing and soldering whatever wires have come loose inside; I would give it a go myself if I had a soldering iron and some watchmaker's screwdrivers. As I don't, would anyone like to earn £10 sorting it out for me? Or lend me the bits so I can have a go myself? Ta.

  • I can do this for you, should be simple enough. Where you based?
