Ace ending to the story. Well, ace development in the story so far. Good luck getting it back.
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world.

This post is for all those people who cycle from Stratford, Forest Gate, West Ham or further and ride along or pass the Greenway, today it was sad to get the following email from Newham-Cycling:
"This evening 17th March on the greenway (between canning road and abbey road exit on the greenway) a man i saw man in his thirties was rob of his bike by a group of six boys. The poor man had on choice but to hand over his bike they rode pass me laughing. We called the police and I understand that a lady cyclist was also rob of her bike earlier in the day
I wonder if Newham cyclist could find away of making the greenway safer and enjoyable everyone"

This is the same area where I had taken last November, these could be the same boys . Be careful and safe cycling. -

FFS... as I said before I've cycled passed as a bloke got mugged there.
Called police but did not see getting involved as wise.

Not when you have a family to get to.

Maybe he's just a 'weapon'

I'd like to think that if I saw a doris getting attacked and mugged by 5-6 youths I'd have the decency to atleast shout like fuck like a mentalist if I was gonna bottle it and ride off
In an ideal world I'd like to think that I'd stop and kick fuck out the cunts but getting stabbed for someone I don't even know doesn't appeal to me

Yes. Have done. Will continue to do. Makes me feel good, to know that I am not another spineless stand by and gawp type. Last instance, Shadwell station around xmas. Got a few dates out of it too.

Society needs to stand up for each other and whats right, fucking internet warriors. Sorry, I dont want to be overly horrible to people, each to their own but I just dont know how you justify that in your head as you ride/walk past something like that and do nothing.

And if you did front these little pricks up you will soon find out that they are weak, cowardly and want nothing to do with someone who the 'screwface effect' dont wash with.

I think you have been watching too many Charles Bronson movies...

That would be, like, one Charles Bronson movie?

I think this is a case of each to his/her own. If you come across a situation you have a small amount of time to decide what is the right or sensible thing to do. When/if the moment happens you react and make a spur of the moment decision. Just don't dwell on what has happened and think about what you could've done differently.

the segmentation of ethnics by the cops is the most interesting point on this thread

Things you can do in Henley On Thames you can't do in certain parts of East London for example.
It has nothing to do with my fucking morals or ethics. My step-son for example isn't allowed on Leyton High Road, but can go to Priory Estate in Walthamstow, because of the post codes politics. I told him many times, that this is stupid, but he was stopped and "warned" (robbed) on a couple of occasions and the next time other boys will stab him. His school friends were stabbed.
This is the real world in which some 14 yo kids wouldn't hesitate to stomp on your head when you want to play hero. So, good luck, Batman. Keep up the good work, but don't expect us to bring you grapes to the Newham General.
Hi want to give you all an update, especially this tread has gone off is some weird direction!
So the next night after my bike was taken I caught the train home as I came out of the station I see a guy riding my bike. Ran around to the police station around the corner and ask them for help but they were not helpful.
Yesterday I am walking to the train station and against the window of the KFC is my bike! I had just passed a bobby on the beat, so I ran and grabbed him as we walk towards KFC this kid rides towards us. The kid gets taken to the police station for handling stolen goods, my bike! The best bit is as kid is being arrested, a unmarked police car drives pass with someone who has just been robbed and they point out the kid on my bike!
So will get the bike back, Hooray!
