First proper ride in about 3 months today.
Same here, in fact it was probably November (fair-weather).
30 miles around the lanes of Leicestershire @ 16.4mph average. Christmas and my work-time eating regime have ruined me. Need to get fit. On the plus side it was the first time I've taken my new Ribble build out for some proper miles and it rides great.

Not sure where to pop this so i thought here was good enough...just done first two rides (yesterday and today) ever fixed (been singlespeeding a year) and scared myself stupid going down two biggish hills (i can handle spinning but brain kept saying coast). Hilarious :::)))Had to bail out once as my brain chickened out totally. I must have looked like a crazed male bodaceia with pedals spnning out. Back out tomorrow at 0600 to find more hills.

Balham, Biggin Hill, Westerham, Ashdown Forest, Crowborough. Prawn Sandwich with my father, who had just completed the move away from the house in which I grew up. Crowborough, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Something, Something, Orpington, Something, Something, Home. 85 miles this way, >, 1700m this way, ^, all at a smooth and steady pace (besides the final London leg, which was anything but). Luffly weather, and a day that passed extremely quickly.
I've now a few more miles from home to West London, which I'm very much looking forward to... taking slowly.
Burrito for tea.

getting weekendvy reading these (wanky newspaper term)
went in a car to bracknell for a forest mtbo race, bad mood due to 3 hours getting there, started inpeccably to control 4, then started racing a dude that I thought was my mate Jon on the same course, turned out to be someone else, so I took ages to relocate, and sacked it off as knew wouldnt be competitive. ended up having a few circuits around the forest anyway. car back was again total joy so feels like a wasted day.it was nice in the sun, but thats a day of 'leisure' travelling around too much in a car that sums up all I hate about stupid little England rushing around all the effing time. better get better when the one who never gives up turns up...

First time outside on the fixed since last year. So nice to be spinning light wheels on dry tarmac, and enjoying the sun. Possibly a bit too early for bib knicks, and fingerless gloves. Nasty mountain wind coming over the frozen lake nearly turned me into a popsicle. Still could'nt wipe the grin off though.

Had a blast as mentioned with almac, mattflouncingforeignha, and then the most massive bunch of forumforeignengers out in hertfordshire.
Great to see so many faux fixie skidders who have come to the happy conclusion that it can all end in gears occasionally. Lots of pretty bikes, claus winning the shiny bike competition. Clearly he has spent the entire winter polishing and cleaning that machine.
Lovely surprise to see so many familiar faces on bikes. Got home and promptly had to head off to hipsterville to see a friend, so over a 90 mile day. Am assuming I shall sleep well tonight.
Talking of that strange orb, I should have changed to darker lenses for today, it was bright.

We did 44 miles yesterday taking in Birker Fell, Hard Knott Pass and Wrynose Pass. Some serious swearing going up...

First real ride, since I got injured at work. Been fiddling with the fit, since my shoulder is shattered, my elbow won't fully extend and my right arm has become a bit shorter than the left. 20 miles round Copenhagen Airport at a decent pace and the only problems was pain in my lower back. Weather was fantastic: Blue sky, 7 degrees and almost no wind. Felt awesome being back on the road!

78 miles (or 125k in Euro currency) in 4hr40 down to Rye and back. Route went Yalding, Marden, Staplehurst, Frittenden, Biddenden, Tenderden, The Stocks, Rye, Military Road, Wittersham, Smallhythe, Tenderden, Sissinghurst, Goudhurst, Winchett Hill, Yalding, home.
Naturespotting was several jays, a cuckoo, a field mouse, and the usual sheep and horses. Oh, and two dead badgers in separate locations.
All in all a lovely morning out!

... Hard Knott Pass and Wrynose Pass.
Congrats!! That's some seriously serious stuff. In fact, they're number one and two on my list of climbs that I'd like to try.
How were they?

100 miles from farnborough to bath with braker. Good day in the saddle. On train home now, full report to follow...
As promised:
We had a it of a false start, firstly with braker thinking we had missed a turn and having to double back a few times. And secondly (massive fail on my part) me ploughing into the back of Dumps, resulting in bent handle bars for me, and a buckled wheen for Dumps. Braker headed for a bike shop we passed to see if he could pick up a new wheel whilst we set about trying to put right what we could with the tols we had. Braker returns having been sold a 650B front wheel with a "700C" tag on it...
So unfortunately Dumps decided to call it a day, eaving braker and I to carry on.The rest of the ride was pretty uneventful, nice quiet roads, sun shining all day, plenty of other riders about, very little traffic. Just spinning along at a comfortable pace.
The plan was to go to Bristol but we made the call to stop at a pub by the canal just on the outskirts of Bath. So in all we'd done 94 miles just over 6 hours moving time with 4 or 5 stops for puncture/pee/food.
Here is the route (ignore the bit that goes past Bath to Bristol):

[/ame]This morning I went out with Oxonian CC again. Pretty standard Sunday morning club run but a little shorter than normal. I tracked our route using my phone so no need to look at the map and get confused this afternoon!
Thankfully the pace was relaxed so 2h50m moving time, plus a stop at a cafe that had very good cake!

First outing on the fun bike since January due to ski trips abroad. Recklessly planned 10 laps at R.P. and only managed 6 before my legs quit :(

Bit o' painting this morning (I've been decorating quite a lot of late), amble home on my spongy commuter, decide upon a small hilling at Highgate (rewarded by lunch at the top). Return home, put on a load of washing, write this message ^^^^, find myself at a loose end... then return to Highgate for a bit more hilling. Spring is off to a good start.
Forgot to say...it was a frosty white wonderland when I set off but beautifully sunny within an hour. What a day to be outside on two wheels!
