  • One of only 16. Campag Record ti/carbon 10 speed 'everything'. Zondas front and rear. NOS 3ttt TDF bars. Campag NOS ti pedals. Look carbon forks. A labour of love, but ridden every week rain or shine! Say hi if you are passing me in Richmond Park (which happens quite a lot coz I'm slow old g1t).

I would stop in at the Putney shop on my way home from school in the Mid 70s to watch these being put together. Lovely. The shop window had rows and rows of orange and blue frames hangin up, but way above my 5p a weelk pocket money means.

We must have passed each other as I was doing the same, at the same time :-)

  • I bet that cost you a fortune Stupotq? Yeah I love my bike, the guy who I bought it from did an amazing job on it. I just want to get a new wheelset on it once ive got some money.

Yes, its a labour of love, I brought the bike (but only wanted the frame... hey ho), and then set about buying all the 10 Speed Record Ti/Carbon stiuff on good ol e-bay over the past 12 months. Mrs goes mad, as I have boxes and boxes of Campag stuff. To show how anal I am, I liked the alloy shifter with the carbon levers, Campag didn't do it, so I brought x1 alloy set and x1 carbon set and swapped them over. I have been 'advised' to sell my boxes of campag before the summer or else!!!! There was last week a set of NOS 32H Titaniam Campag record track hubs on e-bay whihc would make up a fab set of wheels for yours, they didn't sell, so they might come back on.

all that money on group and frame and you have footcages?

  • the holdsworth is ok, but spoilt by a 1 1/8th steerer tube and fugly stem as well as fugly carbon fork......nice frame detailing though, could of used betterr steel imo.

  • Saving up for a set of Tommasini forks. Its a 1" steerer, but cant find a decent 1" ti stem in 90mm. The Pedals are the super rare ti spindle ones, for some reason I can't get used to clipless pedals and either a) foot comes out when out of the saddle or b) fall over at traffic lights!

  • user error.

  • hating the rear wheel lacing pattern. Especially on a retroish frame like that.

  • I bought a Harry Quinn bike from a Lad in Whitley Bay who claimed it had belonged to Joe Waugh. I know he had it painted from Blue to Red but it was origonally pink. Could this be the same bike as the one in your picture.

  • You can always ask Joe. You'll find him at M Steel Cycles in Gosforth.

  • Its a beautiful bike but I had to really try not to buy it last year!!! Expensive but for that money (fraction of) I think i would be much happier with a original!!

  • but i love the orange and blue colour scheme
