We could go to Walsall instead, or Coventry...
Don't mention the W-word, I'll have nightmares.
I'm off on the 9th, meeting Rob at 7am... he says we're getting the 1730 train back to Brum... Aberystwyth is 108 miles from my house so if we keep an average of 18mph with a couple of short stops we'll do it in 7 hours... 8 if it's windy. So should have a couple of hours to get the food in.
The reason I didn't finish the first post is because, well I had to keep up with Rob's unfalteringly high speed pedaling during 70-80 mile rides last Summer. While I have no difficulty with that now, I wouldn't wish it upon anyone else

I feel my reputation is somewhat unjust......:-)

My Beautiful big bed.... Rather than a stinking sweaty train! Yes please!.... Im gonna ride my bike until i get home... Im gonna ride my bike until I get home.......
Nice pub in Aberystwyth vs. Familiar bed that you sleep in every night... and which you will end up in whichever direction you do it in! Each to his own though.
Also got in mind a train journey to Machynlleth, 120 mile loop around Snowdonia, then train back... perhaps the next morning though

it is a nice part of the world to be cycling through (the wales end not the brum end, sorry brummers), but the main roads are scary with high speed traffic and bends a pleny so avoid the A-roads, this will be hillier, and further, but much better.
my folks live on that line and that line is pretty rubbish for cyclists, note the plural, as i went back at christmas and the bike compartment had enough room for one bike. poor show. so please check. yes you can put them in the aisle but its a often has only only 2 carriages and this is league of gentlemen country so 20 cyclists will seem like an invasion.
