I'm so annoyed at the last few pages of bickering that I feel the need to re-testify how happy I am with Varnos wheels.
They are amongst the best hand made wheels I've riden on...whoever makes them (I'm assuming Varno himself) clearly has a lot of experience.
I've notched up approx 600mi on a pair of the DP18 with Novatecs over the potholes on my commute and they still run perfectly smooth and true. Even after, to my embarrassment, I mistimed a cycle gate and ended up wedging my front wheel in the gate and toppled over. I was sure it would be buckled but nope...still runs perfectly true.
Good value wheels, solid components, well made. Not sure I'll ever be a good enough track rider to justify spending any more.
