Picked up an xa-2 the other day. Got a load of shots on Sunday while out climbing, then my mate dropped it (it fell out his pocket that he hadn't zipped up) film came out. Camera seems to be ok but no idea as to if it actually is, fuck. Shooting on a compact is so much nicer than on an slr when you're out and about and taking photos isn't a priority, having the thing to hand and not being a nuisance seems to give you a lot more freedom.

not many of these are genuinely WTF but some good old photos nonetheless: http://blackandwtf.tumblr.com/
including the rollers with the minitrack which has been seen on various threads.i like this shot of Lassie, waiting.

anyone have any old Leica Fotografie, Foto Technik International, etc magazines they want to get rid of?

Probably old news but for those who want to develop their own film I see that a new darkroom has opened in London @ 117 Commercial Street E1 6BH. But with a name like Lomolab it will probably have an inflated price for a booking

Er, that's digital malarkey isn't it? Apple also? Fail.

It's just a lighteter app. Ben pointed this out to me as one of my film cameras has no metering, and I don't own a light meter. I had been using another one of my cameras to meter but the iphone app works feasibly well until I get round to buying a proper meter or learn sunny 16 a bit better.

went to see Angelheaded Hipsters at the NT today. more extensive than I expected, ended up buying the book. finishes on saturday.
if you like the Beat stuff, probably worth a look. was a show of two halves, the unselfconscious stuff from the fifties, then the sentimental portraits of the survivors from the eighties. pretty sad seeing Kerouac age so fast.

Electrical tape to keep the back closed if it is dropped. Peels off easy and can be re-used; you live and learn.

The catch still works and the back stays closed. I'm getting my first couple rolls of film back tomorrow so I'll see if all is functioning.

What film/camera?+1
I too would be intrigued to know what film+camera combination was used by Hyper Allah.

That's all YOU need to know Ed. I'd like to know if it was a 'blad or Rolleiflex, or maybe something else. In fact, the film is very hard to distinguish. Could it be a digital image from a digital medium format camera? I think it would be interesting to know either way. A bit more information is often very helpful, and sometimes illuminating.

I love how the shutter speed is just right so the front riders are blured and the futher back riders are less blured

As per request at SE's a few weeks ago, here's a picture of a sewer, shot with a Mamiya 67 + 65mm, lit by flash. Featured on Londonist a few days ago to commemorate Bazalgette's birthday.

Can I be honest nefarious? You should be more selective. Less is more. This is said with love, not bile. I agree with Sorethroat, that shot ^ is fantastic.
@Danns - love that sewer shot. It's beautiful (ironicly).
@Hyper Allah - really good. Remind me of Camille McMillan. You're not, are you? If so I claim my £5.
Just found this thread - kewl! No time to read thru it right now but I'm a film user, I've got digitals too but just much prefer the look of film and using film cameras, 35mm and 120, but I bought a baby Rolleiflex the other day which takes 127 film.
Used Joes Basement back in the day too.
Here's some photos I took of the London/Brighton veteran car rally last year using a couple of 1900/1903 Kodak box cameras (period to the age of the cars) and 120 film http://www.flickr.com/photos/36227452@N00/sets/72157626052878855/
