The protection of information act 1982 (iirc, might be freedom, always get the two mixed up) means they have to give you the x-rays if you ask, you usually have to go to the pharmacy and pay an admin fee (£5 the few times I've done it) and then head back to x-ray with a little ticket.
The actual doctors may not know this as they don't really have to deal with it, but admin or radiologist should be able to point you in the right direction.
