i would happily help you eat it...

  • Spotted the denim go-getter that is JAMIE just as I arrived in deptford this morning (same place as last time actually) but this time I gave chase, not wanting to just start shouting out names and maybe cause him to lose concentration and go under a bus or anything I was almost on his rear wheel as we enter the surrey quays one way system and I was about to say howdy, he throws a quick lifesaver look, spies what he must have thought was a cheeky drafter and spins away into the distance.

I give chase again, and keep him about 5 or 6 bike lengths ahead all the way until the tower bridge lights kindly hold him up for a precious few seconds and I finally manage to pull alongside and say my hellos.

nice to finally meet you dude and was a nice if not brief chat over london bridge (except for when the red brompton tried to squish your front wheel into the kerb with some awesome no-look manoeuvring).

I will say though I hadn't thought it would have been possible but I'm pretty sure those denim cutoffs were even shorter than last time... haha

  • Heading up Holborn viaduct this morning, guy on a Planet X carbon track frame with a white front Spokk. Headed the same way as me up until the junction with tott crt rd. MUST be on here - how much did you get that spokk for, fiddy dorrah?

  • Darn you beat me to it, HB. Was too busy hanging the denim beauts up to be ready for the ride home.

I had no idea you were there the whole time, sorry. I would have tried harder to lose you ;p

Good to chat, if you need that Wetsuit let me know. Good luck with the Pears of Wisdom as well (text her).

Hello sir, a pleasure indeed. Also saw skoota at a set of lights on Bishopsgate, hello to you to sir.

  • Girl & guy spinning like crazy on polo bikes down OKR, about 9.30pm. Turned off at Trafalgar Rd I think. Made me wonder if anyone uses flip-flop wheels with polo/road cogs?

  • sumo, borough market.. nice to bump into you

sumo, south of the river! does this mean hes on his way to the bicycle tag?

  • Anyone ever seen me on my Giant Revive? I get a hell of a lot of "LOVE YER BIKE" shouts from cyclists, pedestrians and even a driver who stuck his head out of a window and almost crashed.

(I also have a matt gold single speed)

  • Whoever these idiots I seeon SS bikes with no rear brakes or foot retention. WTF do you think you're doing? One guy whizzed past me uncontrollably down Brixton Hill last night, while coasting! When I caught up to him on a red light at the bottom of the hill I noticed there was no rear brake.

Seriously ride your bike with a rear brake or fixed. Definitely not neither! It's not cool to pretend you're on a fixie when you're not.

no but it is a portent for the coming Armageddon.

    next it'll be raining fleas.

Reminded me of the guy I saw in Shoreditch yesterday, slowing his brakeless SS with his foot on the ground.

    epic fail thread >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Nice looking bike that...

  • It's not cool to pretend you're on a fixie when you're not.

Too right, it's not even cool to be on a fixeh so these people have a lot of catching up to do.

  • Nice red BMW Gangsta with it's owner and a mate sitting outside Rough Trade East. I was the guy eyeing it up enviously with the white bike with white spok.

Also noticing a proliferation of Singlespeeds with only one brake recently, suicide, no?

    Hi Vee,

Where were you - you should have hollered!

Today - purple woodrup parked outside an office in Charterhouse st. Looked familiar.

  • Nice looking bike that...

It is an absolute tank, heavy but easy to ride and fast due to recumbent position. I crashed at about 25mph down hill, as a guy swung his van door open without bothering to look. The bike was completely fine but the van door was almost bent off.

  • Nice, you must have hit it in a comfortable* space.
My dooring experiences always include an instinct reaction to dip outta the way, but just end up hitting the metal of the door frame, or even worse, the corner.

I know theres nothing comfortable about hitting a door

Good to see you too Brave. I stayed at Beckys last night so was getting a chorizo burger for lunch.

Was that you coming over Chelsea (?) bridge (could have been one of the bridges either side) last night coming on to the Embankment carrying an orange frame in your right hand?

I 'DAS'ed you because it looked like a track frame but you had headphones on so I'm not sure if your heard.

Either way it was a weird looking bike
