Ha, no way. I'm going to a gig that evening (in West Norwood library, of all places) so I won't be able to stay into the evening either.
I can't think of any quirky pubs on that stretch from Haringay to Soho, except Filthy McNasty's which is actually on Amwell St and a bit of an institution, although not really quirky.
The Island Queen in Angel is not far off though and architectually amazing, if not quirky per se:

And it used to be a damn nice pub, hopefully still is. I vote detour there.
I also think we should start earlier than 2, personally.
