I'd love to try a bike CVT. If you can eliminate the disadvantages of hub gears (the need for frequent cable adjustment, difficulty in changing gear under load (especially the nexus 7 speed) then even if it weighs as much as a Nexus it's better.
If they can really bring the weight down that would be awesome. It doesn't have to be as light as a derallieur, just lighter than a hub gear. It seems like at least 3 of the Nexus ratios are there to counteract the extra weight of the hub!
