Smitten with this car. Really want a Mk1 MX5 for the summer now, reckon I could pick a decent one up for about €2,000, about €400 for the body mods, €500 for a set of 15" x 7.5" Superlite wheels, €400 for Yokohama A048Rs, DIY paintwork, induction kit/ exhaust system/ suspension upgrade and Bob your uncle, awesome summertime/ funtime car for under €5,000. Massive amount of win to be had there. Not too hard on petrol and a bollockload of laughs.

This.
You could go totally overboard on it but I reckon for €5,000 you could have a lovely daily driver. Don 't want it to drink petrol, have my mini for that. I'd like to do a bit with the interior too, buckets and a nice steering wheel etc. Maybe strip it out a bit to lose some weight but I can't imagine there's much to get rid of really unless you go fully track and ditch the carpets and dashboard which I don't fancy. Something in the spirit of Colin Chapman is what I'm after, not crazy power but good handling and low weight.

Wheels look a little small, could do with being lower profile also.

is the mini getting put into full-time service again?
woo.

Nope, we're getting a Nissan Qashqai. Not my idea though, I love ^this^ car. But not as much as the Mini!

PS You can easily knock out 60mpg in the Golf, 65-70mpg if you really think about it. One tank of diesel generally lasts for about 650 miles, and currently about £70 to fill from empty.

Insane, he actually doesn't even get one side on properly, hope they're not planning to ride on them... Bit pointless.

Looks like Aphex Twin's driving.

The pic is from a sale thread, which is why there is no engine cover. Looks better without mudguards imo

Ah finally, a car that I like! Stance is a bit 80s for my taste - the rear is a little high and the chop exaggerates it. ~~ I've got a drawing of a similar kinda 'rod somewhere... I'll scan it in~~. Naw I'm too embarrased, unless anyone really wants to see it.

Yep, that's a 3500cc V10 F1 engine, mid-mounted in a saloon car (Alfa Romeo 164) shell. Sadly didn't get past this stage. Was conceived as a support series to F1 but only this one car was built.
