I'm not sure what I mean. It was near the zoo though.
They were hiding behind a hedge. I was doing laps. -

I've seen 'em up there with speed guns before, zapping car drivers.

Easy just point out that you find the cabbie's language both offensive and distressing.
If that doesn't help quote Section 5 of the Public Order Act and ask him to arrest him.
If they can abuse it so can the public.
The offence is created by section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986:
"(1) A person is guilty of an offence if he: [(a) uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, or
(b) displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting, within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby."
This offence has the following statutory defences:
(a) The defendant had no reason to believe that there was any person within hearing or sight who was likely to be alarmed or distressed by his action.
(b) The defendant was in a dwelling and had no reason to believe that his behaviour would be seen or heard by any person outside any dwelling.
(c) The conduct was reasonable. If they do noting I'm pretty sure you are then entitled to throw your own faeces at them.

I've been hit by a cabbie before, he wound down his window, said sorry, then sped off faster than I could get his registration. His passengers looked horrified.

30th June: Grays Inn Road with Theobalds Road on the hipster highway.
There's two of them on the westbound side of Theobalds pulling anyone who so much as goes over a line.
God I hate that. Especially when there are cars stopped in the advance cycle box. Its like cars have more right to the road or something.

Police officers with bikes actually hidden behind a van, on Procter St (Red Lion Square) outside Innovation Centre further down, busting red light jumpers at lights turning onto Procter St from Theobalds Rd.
Pulling a lot of people over too.

Gotta pay off all the riot damage from the weekend innit?

I can understand them pulling people over, as someone said earlier in the thread It is a crime. Ok in the grand scheme of things not a massive one but there you go. Im sure most people who jump red lights on here actually check to see if anyones actually crossing/about to cross the road and also what the traffic is doing. But the crazed commuters the nice weather has bought out don't tend to do that. Steaming through lights, wall's, children etc in an effort to get where they need to be 10 minutes ago. People riding around like dicks isn't going really what we need. I don't want my mum to get knocked over on a crossing by some fat sweaty brompton riding idiot.
But, I would like to see other crackdowns on the roads for more serious offences: Driving with a phone (which has caused fatalities), Bus and Taxi drivers who jump red lights (normally at speed too as they hate having to slow down) should lose there licence, general speeding etc...
We shouldn't feel hard done by for not being allowed to break the law but it seems a little strange if we're the only group of road users being targeted.

I don't know if this is worthy of it's own thread but I just wanted to warn anyone who frequently rides up Theobalds Road into central London that the transport police have been stopping every single cyclist who uses the bus lane that goes past Central Saint Martins college to cut through towards Covent garden. Apparently that bus lane is special and you're not allowed to use it.
I stood outside for 20 minutes today and watched at least 15 cyclists, Boris bikers and couriers alike, unwittingly ride straight into the jaws of 6 transport police officers and each get a £30 on-the-spot fine.
I thought it might be useful to post a warning on here as it seems like they're going to be there all week.

Glad to see my taxes are being well spent.
Is it a special bus lane in that it helps prevent cyclists getting maimed by traffic? -
• #669
As if anyone is going to attempt that. If you do, good luck and post the video up here so we can all see your success.

is that 3 or 4 threads now that that video has been posted in today?

Balls. I UTFS, but I didn't find anything.

Dunno, I was holding my thoughts until this one broke me.

Just had a look on google street view and there's a blue sign with a bus and a cycle symbol and the word taxi - I'd challenge those fines if I were any of those cyclists. -

That guy with the camera seems like a massive twat.
If you mean the footbridge at the side of the zoo buildings that appears to be a continuation of the broadwalk experimental permissive cycle path, then yes it is no cycling.
Anyone caught cycling along there should be thrown to the lions.
