UK Champs
Hey guys, as some of you might have heard, the Uk Champs will almost certainly (we'll know more this week as BC are getting the event "signed off") be happening at the Manchester Velodrome...
British Cycling want to hold a polo event in the Manchester Velodrome for Bike Week (June 18th and 19th weekend, before the Euros). This is very exciting as we've never been on their radar before and it potentially starts the long process of acquiring more funding/facilities/awareness of bike polo (in a big way) across the UK. We thought it would be a perfect venue for the UK Champs (BC like the idea of it being a "proper" tournament).
BC went to the BFF with the request who have come to us (LHBPA) to organise everything and provide all the info, logistics, tournament organisation, etc. We'll also hopefully be working with you lot in Manchester (if its ok with you guys) for:
A certain amount of sponsorship is covered already but anyone with any good ideas for people who would be interested in banner spots at the most high profile polo event probably yet in europe please get in touch with the LHBPA.
Also, we will be coming up pretty soon to meet with the velodrome people so if there could be 1 manchester rep present with us that would be great as well.
That's about it for now, just a heads up. Please no requests about team registration etc yet. That will come in due course
