I am not tynan, but I am a very very close friend of his.

Common Purpose have been a target of conspiracy theorists for as long as they have existed (20 years or so) - and especially so in the last 10 years.

You say they are supposedly something to do with the fabian society "but possibly something more sinister" - which suggests to me you think the fabian society are sinister ?

You would have to be a little less ambiguous with your questions to get a decent answer, it's hard to know what it is you are driving at.

I think their main problem (or more correctly the conspiracy theorist's problem) is that they conduct meetings under the Chatham House Rule, so naturally the misanthropist instinct kicks in with those who lens the world through conspiracism.

There's usualy a logical progression of thought between the two sides at least, no matter how extreme - often sound ideologies in which we can all recognise some validity, yet with something our instincts quietly tell us to be wary of. Are we conditioned to think this way though?..

We are evolutionarily conditioned to be misanthropists, to distrust what might be a threat, it seems to pool more in some people/groups than others, but I think it's entirely natural (refuses to define 'natural') - conspiracism is an expression of an evolutionary defence drive.
