It takes stress off the belt itself, and makes it more comfortable, but I know what you're saying. I used a Fabric Horse for a few days but I found it annoying having it on my belt while at work etc. so now just stick my Evo in my belt and my Fahg in my bahg. Cumbersome, useful bastards.
