Looks like i created an interesting conversation back there, and one i wanted to "round off"
I initially posted a comment in jest, after a shit day out on the road bike. Turns out, that the route i took on saturday took me longer on the gears in comparison to the same route fixed. I was a little vexed, and put it down to being lazy on that particular ride. If the gearing on my fixed is correct, I will hurt myself happily for an hour or so. And i like it. Time trial style.
I reckon i need to move up from a 50/34 to a 52/38 and vary it between hilly routes and non-hilly routes. You guys gave me a good read though.
