  • Is this right? I would have thought that more torque is required to turn a big gear, but that lower gears are capable of producing more torque at the tyre/road point of delivery???

    "Power is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you travel through the wall"
    Taken from a car forum but quite accurate.

    From what I understand to travel at the same speed on a bigger gear would require more torque, on a smaller gear more power would be needed.
