I did this ride today: http://www.cycle-route.com/routes/Clissold_Park_Loop-Cycle-Route-1602.html
Also very good to get out of busy traffic and ride along some really quiet country roads. I was amazed how quickly it felt like I was in the countryside when I was still in Enfield!

Was nice to get out, took about 1.45 which is slow, not getting as fast as I'd like for some reason. Next week might aim for Bethnal - Lewisham - Clapham - E&C - Bethnal. 26 miles for anyone who's up for a light Jaunt, maybe a pub lunch?
Am off on hols on weds so not around next sat but deffo up for it another weekend if you don't mind cycling with a SS, not exactly alleycat speed type girl, if you're heading off from a east-ish direction.

To and fro Stratford to Greenwich.
Last night Rotherhithe Tunnel home; today foot tunnel followed by Blackwall Tunnel approach road. Neither was fun, to be honest.
If you're at Rotherhithe you may aswell go to Tower Bridge (or LB) it's not much further. If enough time, the ferry never fails to put a smile on my face. Tunnel strictly only for times of low traffic.

Beautiful conditions indeed. Great day to be on two wheels.
My crash dodgy ankle stopped me from riding the planned century but I was ok on what turned out to be a very slow but easy 22 mile route. Great to feel that you've done a few miles without turning your lungs inside out. No idea why, but my threshold pace was way lower than normal...maybe I was still wobbly after the van collision yesterday or im coming down with something. Hurts to walk but seems to be slightly bruised. Few days off and I'll be fine.

Spent all day (on and off) yesterday cleaning the car as selling it soon.
Spending all day today trying like crazy to get rid of a hangover.

My (skinny) mate's girlfriend bought him "100 greatest cycling climbs" for christmas...
Biatch!
Spent most of yesterday in the Surrey hills ticking things off his to do list.
65 miles including Toys Hill, Ide Hill (we came from the east) got a bit lost looking for White Downs (ouch!) then Box Hill.
Stupidly caned it on the rolling sections, that's what I'm good at, then arrived cooked at the bottom of everything (need to rethink my tactics... Don't have any:-)
Box Hill was rammed (and easy!) at the top a few strange people where to be seen wandering around looking sheepish dressed in civilian clothes...Eew!
Lycra outnumbered denim by 3-1.
It's a fantastic view and will be spectacular come the Olympic road race, impassable as well I should think. Had never been up it so hugely overestimated it and we twiddled up saving ourselves for a hard bit, which never happened, got passed quite a bit then realised it was over, Doh!
It was a beautiful day, really felt like a proper spring one, mitts not gloves:-) -

Went out on Jaygee's route dispite him being ill. 26.1km/h average, 102km travelled, Max 68.1km/h!
Went on a look around Kent. Some disgusting hills. Bastard rise or something of the sort.
4 new faces, 1 familiar one. All super sound.
Cheers Gustav for dragging me back to the Peloton after my mechanical.
Cheers Gary for the drama when I rear ended you and went over the bars into a ditch!!!
Bike cleaned, chicken in oven, Happy days! -

Chris is hilarious to ride with, on our way back at windsor he was muttering that the pace needed to be dropped a bit, I was flagging so was happy about this. Chris took the lead and we were off again at over 20mph. In the car on the way back he was talking about French band desinee this is a distraction tactic- I think he is a closet Belgian hard man.
Great ride, decent pace and lovely bunch of participants. I am feeling very at home with the riders at the club.

Bike cleaned, chicken in oven, Happy days!Nice to meet you George and good riding with you. Gary is not on here but he's not the sort of man to be bothered by something so trivial, he just loves riding (pretty fucking strong for a 50yo too).
Anyway thats my damn route not some slack can't face the pace South Africans (love you J and was gutted you were unable to make it, like you said on Friday at our brief meeting we need to catch up properly).
Dave it's always a pleasure and it was nice to introduce you to Londons finest Croque Monsieur and Mickey the first of many Kent runs I hope. Not sure where to head next weekend now.

When you're back we'll plan an easterly. Going south east beers this week to introduce myself so if you're in the region stop by!
Planning a couple of shorties in prep for London - Cambridge fixed! Should be fun!!

60 mile, around the Isle, of Purbeck with the one who never gives up,
really was lovely out, skylarks singing for first time this year lots of glimpses of pussy
willow and flowers and stuff.
oh, everything seemed normal for a sunny day, there were lots of those people out frittering money away in internal combustion engines, stopping now and again to take photographic evidence of being outside.
at one point we went on the main road, and a flock of subaru boys came past, farting and belching with the compression exhausts, but we soon got back onto a nice 16% climb with just the rhythm of purring chainrings to hear, and gaining a delightful village with church called Kingston.
at one point after a rather fast section we checked the speedometer and it read 41 m.p.h, oh, how we reflected that three hours at that speed on bicycles would be a 120 mile trip--just imagine!
anyway, got to go, roast vegetables and salmon just being served by jeeves,
toodle pip. -

Ladbroke Grove to b/right/on today. Took a long and scenic route, sick of sheep and chickens come the end. Seen 1 country lane, seen them all. Did it geared, Yas fixed. Tired now.

Saturday morning was a 65 miler from Finsbury Park to a place called Westmill and back. Westmill is basically the in heart of what appears to be Agathachristiefordshire, which is north of Hertford, it would seem.
It has a brilliant Tea Shop which is on the village green, naturally. http://westmilltearoom.co.uk/
On the way back I temporarily hooked up with a group of 3, who promptly blew me away on the climb into Essendon village, which is my nemesis. Should've guessed that was going to happen from the Rollapalooza top one of them was wearing!

Distance 65 miles
Average Speed 17.1 mph

My ride yesterday. Gentle social ride, a lot of it on rough towpath. Hairy going into the city at dusk. What a wonderful day though!
