Happen to me on an old bike that hasn't been chased, mechanic managed to take it off, although not sure how.
as mdcc said, good quality nuts make all the difference as well as applying grease before inserting it in, it's the best way to ensure it'll come off, work wonder when I tried to install mudguard and it's a little tricky trying to screw it in without grease.

Done and done, I was trying to put the wrong ones in!!!!! This morning we did all the threads (ie, with the tap), and then back to the bike shop to get the right size, and now all is hunky dory.
After the drive in to work today, where after 5 mins a suicidal scooter rider (we have lots of them here!!!) called me a stronso for driving carefully and with due diligence through a built up area) I am looking forward to commuting with the bike on the cycle track that we have here............feck me the people here in Italy are for the most part very careless drivers!!!! Really makes me nervous!!!!!
Saying that though, they are also like that on the cycle track through the town!!!! They just pull out in front when they want, turn right across your path when they please!!!!! Really have to stay focused riding the bike through the town!!!!
OK rant over!!!!
Me thinks a new brake lever tomorrow, the one finger jobby!!!

Here it is ok, as we have a dedicated cycletrack, I can go as far as Lake Garda, and further, without hardly touching a road for cars!!!! Makes a great and quiet commute in the morning..........

They are 32s but think they come up a bit bigger than that... Closer to 35.

I cannot get enough of riding my dad's pompino, which is worrying, it felt like a bike I can trust, stupidly comfortable.
Really need to get cantis fitted on my BMW Gangsta as soon as possible so I can run two brakes on it.

Really impressed with the pompino so far... Londons crappy roads, trails, initial impressions are good for a frame that costs what it does. Also my first fixed with two brakes and was surprised what a difference it makes. Will still switch the pedals to spds I think, not a fan of no foot retention and fixed, even with two brakes.

Just exposed my GITD Pompetamine to 20 minutes of a dull overcast day, it was noticeably aglow when I wheeled it back into my unlit hallway

My Pompino was out and about today, making new friends. Birmingham Rollercoaster ride :) I'm liking my new back wheel, it feels a hell of a lot lighter than the B43 I was running temporarily.

hey, really thinking of getting one of these and just have a couple of questions, im 5.9, but generally like a bigger bike, im not sure weather to go for a large or medium, the size is stated as 51cm for a medium which sounds small for a medium, but I did notice the bb seems the be quite high up. My ideal size (like my old surly) is 53cm, would the large be closer to that or does the meduim feel bigger then just a 51cm. Hope I phrased all that right, if not sorry but you get the gist (I hope)
and to run the break can I just get a regular headset like this

well, im inbetween bike atm due to thieving cunts, but it was a surly steamroller with a 53cm top tube, but the pompino seems to slightly slope upwards, I'm just not sure how much that changes things
Our frame geometry is COMPACT, meaning you need to knock 3cm off “conventional” frame sizes
this is what they say on their web site, so does this mean 51cm is 54cm compared to a regular frame

I think they meant the seattube length rather.
Match the top tube with the surly, you'd need a small one (52.5cm top tube).
Did the same as me and my dad have similar body porportion, my road bike have a 54cm tt, and the medium pompino have 54cm tt - felt the same once set-up.

sorry, my mistake, meant seat tube not top tube
Just tried to fit a rack, and the nut snapped whilst trying to screw it in, too much paint in the thread made it very difficult to screw, then the head snapped off the screw!!!!!! Cant get it out!!!! Very frustrating!!!!!!!
