Is Rose Hill hard to climb?

I can't quite tell if it's just me being weak but I always struggle near the top and have to shift into the little ring before I even get to the second steep bit. Does anyone else have trouble getting up it???

Is Rose Hill in Cannon Hill park?

Rose hill in the Lickeys? Never been up there on a bike but i imagine it would be tough. It was hard enough in a car! The climb that always kills me is Romsley Hill aka Bromsgrove rd (b4551) heading out from Halesowen through Hunnington and Romsley. There's a pub near the top where you can have a rest before making a final push to the summit... not that I ever do though of course!

i went up lickey hill last night and my lungs tried to come out my bottom

I rode up it by mistake on my fixed pompino, never again!
i made it to the top twith only one stop, it was very very slow going at times though

go to longbridge where the old rover factory is ,go straight across the little island up the hill to the bmw motorbike showroom ,next island turn right and your on it.

then you go over the junction, towards burcot, ride for a mile then turn left at a mini roundabout and turn left onto Green Hill. Once youve climbed that it's not far back to Barnt Green so you can do Rose Hill again... not the best circuit but OK for hill climb training

no idea how you big ring any part of that hill ive changed down before im off the island :)

it didnt feel any easier tonight and breathing through my ears made my face go blue

i did it on my birthday last year on my fixed. Nearly died, especially after the other 23 miles I did after it.

Just about right I'd say for an out of shape trackie who's ridden <100miles since August last year.

I do a similar route all the time, it's about the right distance for me. It is too short though, in the sense that you go through some fairly nice countrysidey areas, but sadly not enough before you come back to the 'orrible grey built-up traffic-rich areas.
