Nah I got the ovis, prefer hightops but if they work well will probably get some of the low ones with the Velcro strapping as well

They're the ones I ended up ordering. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Has anyone used these before?;
Shimano SH-MT22 Multi-use touring shoe
I've got a pair, mainly because there the best fit I could find, and they were dirt cheap on trade (Shimano mark-up ftw) Admittedly they do look silly, and feel a bit cheap, but they are comfy, easy to walk in and a good starting shoe for someone just getting into clipless - No point in splashing out on a pair of sidi's until you know what you really want from a shoe

Are there any shops in London that sell the 661 filters?
-
• #306
I might sell mine. What size do you want?

Alwaysriding have some new DZR shoes in stock, including a couple of women's versions;

Those DZRs look a bit special.

Don't go there!

I didn't say special in a special = "good" or special ="bad" way.

Shimano MT42
I've been using these for over a year now. Very comfy and hard wearing. bloody cold in winter though and leak like a sieve. Great in summer on long hot rides. For winter I wear sealskin socks so not bothered about them filling with cold water.
all the ventilation can mean cold toes on a long winter ride. But generally they perform well and the cleat is still clear of the ground even after a lot of walking. I wear them all day on or off the bike. -

Anything to report on these? I've just ordered a pair myself.

okay had the DZR's for a couple of weeks, and with the current nice weather have been riding round in them alot and am now using them as my commute shoes, as I can walk about in them at work, without looking like a cyclist...
Fit nice, next pair I get will be these
as after you get used to straps and ratchets with sidi's tying laces again is a bit of a faff...
The insole they come with is a bit thin, and when you use it, you can feel the metal plate they've inserted into the bottom of the shoe to screw the cleat in and stiffen the sole, so I've swapped that out for a mutilated air max inner, which is quite thick and also means the half size that the shoe is out, doesn't bother me. On the bike they are great, had a couple of nervous unclipping moments as the lip of the trainer that surrounds the cleat, caught on the pedal, but you get used to it, work around it..
Walking is fine, on the weekend walked around borough market, then down from london bridge to westminster bridge along the south bank, edges of my feet started to ache towards the end, and I was dying to get back on the bike, but all was fine.
Really happy with them, would recommend whole heartedly. Did need to buy a stanley knife to cut out the rubber cover that covers the cleat holes, but I needed one anyways...
Will be buying another pair.

Are they leather? My leather dzr/mission rondels seemed a 1/2 size too small but have now stretched to be snug like a bug.
-
• #315
yeah, they were just a smidgen too big when bought uk10, uk 9.5 would have been spot on...
Yep they are leather.. -

Hmm, mine have arrived and are too narrow, pinching my feet. I normally wear a 45, so I ordered a 45.
I was going to exchange them for a 46, but now n3il's got me wondering if that would be a mistake. -

today my dromarti spd shoes arrived
the sole is a clone of the sidi sole, so looks fine, cleats to be attached later
the shoes do look like 1920s golf or rugby shoes, so possibly a bit marmite - though perfect as part of my tweed run outfit
shoes in themselves are comfy but do induce the murtle mince as the sole is relatively stiff
overall very happy, the leather uppers appear to be very well constructed

Same thing with my DZR's, fabric though, not leather...

Just had a look at them, they'll take toe spikes!? I presume they're designed to take the 'cross market by storm?

They look like the spazzy kids caliper shoes when I was at school(political correctness wasn't in force when I was a child).
Sounds like they've revised the design a fair bit, to good reviews on Chain Reaction's site, so think I'll give these a try and see how they go.

I've been wearing my DZRs for a bit now (I got the velcro seatbelt ones ^^^) and can confirm CB's assessment. Comfy for walking, fine on the bike (although a bit flexy obviously). They do seem a bit narrow when you first get them but are stretching in nicely now.
I did find that I had a few failed clip-ins due to the proximity of the edges of the 'cleat-hole' to my pedal/cleats (I use Aliums). Nothing a few swipes with the Stanley knife didn't sort out but they definitely remain trickier to clip in to than 'proper' shoes.

has anyone tried these and what they think of them?

Tried mine for the first time yesterday. Very pleased with them. They did loosen up with a bit of wearing and riding, and were comfortable all day. I'm sure I still walk a bit like Postman Pat in them, but whatever.
I ride with aliums too. I'd forgotten just how quiet the cleats are when they're new. I was listening for the "clack" that I get with my other shoes, and it never happened.
Oh also, which ones did you get? The Strasse?
