There's a march happening on March 26th where we can demonstrate our opposition to what's going on on our side of the pond, namely the ill thought out and grossly unfair massive cuts to public services we're being faced with. Anyone coming to that?

Turn your back for 5 minutes to have some kids and a quiet life, what happens? Some slimy turds decide to turn the clock back to the 80's.
I'm off into the attic to dig out my Billy Brag LPs, that'll learn them. -

Forward into the past! The fucking bastards...

When public service cuts hit home...
I was talking to my Mom last night, she's the night nurse at a state prison.
The budget cuts have finally caught up with them, there is now not enough money to have enough prison staff to be safe. There have been 4 attacks on staff by prisoners in the past month (which is nearly an un-heard of number in her prison), one of which resulted in the death of a 34 year old female councilor that my Mom was close to. -

Bloody hell, that's dark.

I know, fucking hard times. I have a feeling America is headed for some sort of appocalyse.
-
• #37
Not to mention the question why there are so many prisoners in there in the first place.
-

I agree, Oliver.
My Mom always wanted to have a tonne of kids, in the end there was just me and she's spent the whole of her life looking to take care of people.
The men in her prison are all kids, nearly all of them under 21, none of them have felt like anyone has ever given a fuck about them, have ever given the a chance to become anything other than what they now are.
My Mom does everything she can to treat them like human beings, to be there for them and to listen to them, but it isn't enough. -

Because they got caught, silly.

Because they got caught, silly.
Or because they got caught and were black or hispanic so got a jail term where the white offender didn't?
Really, you're the least convincing troll since Crisp Crackle. -

Man I'm sorry to hear about that nhatt, can't imaging how your mum feel, and it's lovely to learn that your mum is one of the fews who's willing to listen to other when everyone else shunned them.
Thank for bringing that up Digger, the less gap between rich and poor, the better.

I could talk extensively about how the cuts are affecting British Prisons that I go in.
Britain is not broke, the money is merely somewhere else, in the pocket of a banker or major international company. -

Britain is not broke, the cuts are a tool to bring about extreme social change.
I did. It just didn't sink in as to why he was there (in particular). Cheers again oh wise one!
