  • I'll be straight to polo after the ride. We aim to be back by 1.

  • Declaring myself out already - Wife's birthday this weekend, so I'll be in no fit state come Sunday afternoon. Have fun, ladies. Play nice.

  • Word! Impromptu polo happening now, Bird and Me are heading out. Not sure where yet, give us a bell if you wanna come too!

  • 1pm at Preston Park?

  • Change of plan. I'm allowed out to play. I'll be there at 1 with all the bits.

  • Word. Polo at PP courts from 1pm today-ay-ay-ay-ay!

  • Wow, aching like an son of a bitch!! That'll teach me to try acrobatics!! Word to y'all for great games today...viva la spd's :)

  • I had to ride the Big Lemon for our 'give something back' donation day.

    Sorry I couldn't make it.

Shall we try for a Thursday session on the floodlit court on Lewes Rd?

  • It was a hard session yesterday and I am feeling the damage - bruised, cut and scraped. Still, the overriding emotion is one of accomplishment and fraternity. If that was a foretaste of summer we're gonna have some wicked times!

  • Oh, Thursdays are a no-go for me nowadays. I can do Wednesday which I recall was working out OK. If that's bad for other peeps then by all means do carry on with the Thursdays without me. Mallets et ball are available to anyone who wants them :)

  • Weak. If there's no dedication shown to Brighton polo it will not survive. I know we are all banking on the summer coming (and also several people were away this week) but it's just whack to get down the court only to have to retreat shortly after.

Ach well. I'm just bitter and cynical today.

Don't let Brighton polo die! I'm moving back to Brighton for good in July and wanted some good games! it was a shame you guys couldn't make it up to Cambridge

  • Weds are better for me than Sundays so you'll be seeing me much more

  • Hiya Woody! Nice to hear from you :)

Polo will not die in Brighton, I went all hyperbolic for a wee bit as I was disappoint at 4 weeks of shit weather. We had a bloody decent session last Sunday and we're gonna start a recruitment drive for the summer. My ideal situation is to get enough teams together to have a league, although Brighton is a flaky haunt for many flaky people I think the addictive nature of polo will see that goal realised eventually.

It'll be great to have you back, a font of knowledge and experience as you are can only be a good thing!

  • Wednesday it is.

  • Where do you play on a Wednesdays?

  • I think we're going to try out the Lewes Road basketball court as its floodlit!

  • It's a bit big but looks like a great place to play. I won't be able to make it until about 5. Does this suit?

  • Holy ferk is it big! It's 2 BB courts next to each other. Having said that, loads of the vids I've seen show large courts so it could add a new dimension to our game ;)

    5pm Wednesday then.

  • I may be without a bike after today's escapades. Will still come along though.

  • Working in London this Wed but will make it down as soon as I can

  • Lewes Road BB court thats cool, I will come along and check out this polo lark if you dont mind, never seen or played before, so prob just introduce myself and spectate if thats ok.

    James

  • I am also without a [strike]horse[/strike] bike :-(

  • Jeezus! No sooner do I resolve to make the effort and start coming to the imminent week night sessions when the day gets changed! I'm going to try. Near Shabitat isn't it?

  • It's on Lewes Road opposite the bus depot, kind of near Halfords and B&Q

I'm going to bring lots of non vegan bakery goods for everyone who turns up!

  • me and a friend are there tonight.
