  • Where's my post?!

  • I run 47/19 on my winter hack and it's not too spinny at all. Good on the knees, good for skidding around.

  • Seems I can't manage anywhere near the gearing everyone seems to run. I worked out I ran 71 gear inches last night and my knees are killing me today. Generally I try to select a gear lower than I think on my normal road bike and like to be at a cadence of 100-110 or so. Looks like I want about 58-60 gear inches which looks to be 48/21 or 44/20 and seems nuts compared to you all. Maybe I should just stick to gears.....

  • I have 60" on my commuter bike. I raced a TT with 12% climbs on 90" at the weekend. What was the question again?

  • Where's my post?!

    At the sorting office?
Did they leave a card in the letterbox?

You will easily be able to feel the difference of even 2 gear inches. What is the size of you chainring?

I had 53/16 on my lo-pro. Not a big deal really, but if you're competitive and want to be first from under the lights, you will wear out all the juice in your knees.
Also I found it almost impossible to skid stop, but then I'm an overweight weakling.
