For Sale: Dawes Lightning 10spd 1979 25"

Vintage Retro Dawes Lightning Road Bike dating from roughly 1979 I think (serial number on rear dropout). I bought this to have for myself but have realised I am too much of a short arse to ride this which is a shame as I'd keep it otherwise. Since I've had it I have fitted two new 27" tyres and inner tubes, repaired/adjusted the gears and brakes, trued the wheels, added new cables, added a new saddle from Velo Solo and some new bar tape.

I planned on turning it into a single speed but decided not to do that. I have been riding it to work for a few weeks sorting out all the little issues and decided I can't live the size of it.

There is an old sticker for Heatleys cycles on the frame which is an old bike shop in Preston which now doesn't exist but I remember going in there when I was younger.

There is no identification as to what make of tubing the frame.

Measurements of the bikes are:

Seat tube - 25 inches from the centre of the bottom bracket to the centre of the top tube
Top tube - 23 inches from the centre of the headset to the centre of the seat post

I would keep if it wasn't too big for me. As its nearly 32 years old there are obviously a few scratches and scars but nothing really bad. I think that they add character to the bike.
