    To be fair to Covenrty,it was bombed to rubble during WWII,used to be a beautiful medieval town.

    Think WW2 was even more apocalyptic for coventry than maggie

    Redevelopment was already in the pipeline before the bombing and maggie.

    Dunno if the plans would've been quite as radical without the flattening of the city.

    Wolverhampton, Coventry and many other midland towns suffered from ridiculous road building schemes that separated the centre from the suburbs with motorway like ring roads that discouraged people from visiting the centre. Shame really as these town centres had a lot going for them

    They also prevent growth, like a collar. Very hard for a business to thrive just outside the ringroad.
