Bump for Digger.
I have a friend that is in the same boat as Digger's. I'm not here to poach or owt but would anyone be able to point me towards a website that deals with renting rooms in flatshares that isn't Gumtree? Mucho thanks.

Long shot, BUT if the moon aligns just right and timing and coincidence behave (its only short term and not east so I should probs get off this thread right now), but I'm going to India for 5 weeks (11th Feb-19th Mar).... maybe you/someone you know needs a short term, cheap room in Brixton about then?
Wools - try flatshare.com

I don't think my friend cares too much about where in London but your offer could certainly buy them a bit more time. I'll let them know! Thank you. :)

After Digger has asked his friend of course...

Gotta be Easts for my friend, my friends...

Bumping this, anyone of you lovely Easties got rooms going?

I'll have a room free from April in E5. It's my girlfriends house and is very well kept and furnished. Technically it's a 4 bed maisonette, but we have a dining room and study so there's just the two bedrooms; nice and spacious. It's also a couple of doors down from a very good, chilled out pub. Rent would be around the £600 - £650 mark* incl. all bills and a cleaner.
Your friend sounds like just the type of person we're looking for. PM if it's interesting.

A friend is looking for a housemate in Leytonstone (room available now):
Big furnished double bedroom, sunny south-facing windows.
10min from Leytonstone tube, 2min from Leytonstone High Rd train.
Quiet neighbours, sharing with 2 guys. Non smoking.
Big kitchen, wireless broadband.
Limited hallway though so more than 1 bike could be tricky (poss could be kept in room, not sure)
Rent is £100pw plus bills+council tax around £100pcmPM me if interested.

And my friend is no longer so wedded to Easts, so maybe South?

I don't know if it's useful but when I got let down last year on a room, I searched studio flats on gumtree, and as long as you're looking somewhere without a tube (Stoke Newington was where I was looking) there were a lot of them available for £500 a month inclusive of most bills, and you could rent them on a monthly basis without some massive contract deal. Really helpful if your mate just needs some breathing space.

feeling your urgency here Digger, not that I can help other than this idea.
Even as a temporary housemate your friend will be entering an established 'world' and as we all know people want to have housemates they can get along with.
I don't see any details about her other than she's a 'stylish, good person', it might help things a bit if you list her positive attributes/quirks, obviously without making her identity public. For example, if she's vegan that would be a definite plus for some households who only want to share a kitchen with other vegans, or if she works shifts they might prefer that as she'll be out most of the time... etc.Hope that helped.
oh, and BUMP

Bump time...
So a good friend and nervous cyclist is looking for a room in East London, preferably with other professionals, so not partying all night at home is what I'm hinting at. She's a stylish good person, so haz the Forum any answers on this?
With thanks
