  • FLaP Clefty is offering you the levers for the brakes you have.
    V brakes = long pull,
    Canti's = short pull.
    You need the corresponding levers as RPM said, or a travel agent as moog said.
    If you want to use the brakes you already have, then buy Clefty's levers. Best solution.

    Don't go brakeless unless you're used to it, you probably don't have a good gear ratio for it.

    Cheers, yeah I realise my mistake. The problem was that I was sent the whole bike, but missing the canti hanger for the front, so I was a little confused how to fit brakes, then tried fitting the deore brakes but using the canti (roadie) brake levers!!! So now I have fitted the deores with the deore brake lever as well and all is hunky dory! (btw Planet Xhave said that they will send the missing canti hanger.

    Have been riding brakeless in town for a while, never for a long trip though.Going to use the bike to commute to work tomorrow; 40 miles there and back mostly on a cycle track, with one road crossing.

    Gear ratio is 49:18 - I shall see how it works tomorrow, but a few weeks back I did the same commute on a SS with 52:16 and it went ok.
