Can't we just avoid any "this would be better for me" and have a civil chat? Probably not...
I think we can. But we can only talk about individual opinions, I represent myself and am the most vocal Brummie. Other people in my city may disagree with me etc etc.
Previously I've stated that I like the idea of city allocation as it helps us grow our scenes in ROE etc etc. However, participating in this debate has softened my opinion to the point where I'm effectively on the fence. I think both perspectives have their merits.
However, pragmatically speaking, I think it would be best to do a split and organise two separate and exclusive tournaments. Firstly, I still think lower turnouts help make a 'fairer' tournament because each team plays more games (this is true even in Swiss Rounds, I think...) so the results are less affected by your teams draw. Secondly, it will just be logistically easier. I would nominate Manchester though, as a more accessible place for ROE to congregate. Can you guys hire your Powerhouse place for a day?
There is a chance we could do it in Brum, but outside, and only really if turnout is at the lower end of Chan's expectations.
