  • Sparky can you pm me your email add as whenever I text you it always comes back that it can't be delivered!

  • matt.sparkes at g mail dot com

  • My number is 07974 918855

  • You sir are a star

  • Do your emails push straight to your phone? I'll email you now.

  • It's not set to push, but grabs every 15 minutes.

  • Apparently there's a reserve list? Could try getting on that as well. Not sure how you get on, but you could try contacting them; http://tweedrun.com/?page_id=29

  • You can also be marshalls, who also ride - again, get in touch...

  • ^thanks V. Fuckin spammy cunts!

  • What happened there?

  • Something about the so-called "Alternative Tweed Run" I assume. A lot of sour grapes from folks who couldn't get on this year it seems.

  • I have a 1950 Stallard Special Zakopane for sale. 56.5cm TT & ST
As shown below minus handlebars, stem and brake calipers. £100.
27" wheels with Normandy Hubs, Raleigh Chainset, KKT pedals, GB Toeclips, Weinmann levers, seatpost, Simplex deurailler & lever included.
and a Brooks Professional Saddle for an extra £25.

  • Yeah I got a space as well, amazed as I was doing the form from my Phone which isn't the quickest way to surf.

Wasn't able to get Ellie one either!

Did anyone get their starting pack posted? I figured £15 was a bit much so said I'd go and collect from Covent Garden.

  • I asked for it posted but it said they would contact me for payment of the extra £15 and they haven't done so as yet - will get on to them shortly if I don't hear anything.

Got my dashing green tweed waistcoat in the post today, spiffing what?

  • Hmm I'm going to need to sort out a costume, hadn't thought of that! :)

  • I asked for it posted and wasn't told that I had to pay extra at all. First I've heard of it.

My costume is all sorted from last year, apart from my brown Loake brogues. They're off to the factory for a re-sole. Debating whether I can justify buying another pair for the ride if they don't come back in time.

  • From the Tweed Run Twitter feed;

we're still looking for marshals for the event. if you have some cycling expertise, consider volunteering. email volunteers@tweedrun.com

  • Also, I've just bought my train ticket. I'm going down on the 8am train, which will get me in with enough time to saunter across London and arrive just before kick-off. I suggest you do the same and we can get started on the G&Ts on the train.

  • Eggs Benedict & champagne surely.. or bloody marys all round? Wouldn't be civil to drink gin before 11.

  • I'm definitely going to make a train picnic. Shall we all bring something to share? And champagne is a BIG WIN.

  • OK,

I'm all booked - going out on the 8am train and going to come home on the 6pm. Got some stuff to take care of that evening back in Norwich so can't stay over any more.

Love the idea of a bring & share on the train. Happy to contribute some cucumber butties or similar!

  • You're going to miss the party!

  • I'm getting the last train home, Earng will hopefully be joining us at the afterparty (which I believe from the handbook is open to the general public?)

  • No, you need a rider number to get into the party I believe.

  • The stars on the schedule which indicate "for registered participants only" would seem to suggest that although you need a rider number for the end party, you don't need one for the after party.
