  • Yes, it was a company shindig and would never have paid the entrance fee. Typical tourist trap.
I'd prefer the boss person to get me a few pints in the pub tbh.

  • So crap acting zombies and a rubbish ride where you drop 3 feet?

  • That sums it up rather favourably.
It's alright for the kids I guess (not that I have any but I'd imagine so).

  • I'm only going to say this one more time... but everyone, and I mean everyone.... should go and see...

.... Nov 13th is the last day.

If you wanna quick summary of why it's so fab.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11699860

  • ^ Wicked! Well up for seeing that.

  • I went to the Royal Ballet on Monday to see Sylvia.

Live orchestra, men in tights, women in tutus, some Greek mythology all in a spectacular art deco building! Oh my days pro ballet dancers are fit...... it must take so much hard work and discipline. How does one find such grace?
Anyway, it was bloody brilliant value, all for the cost of a movie tkt (£9 for 'restricted view' which were actually decent). Its only on til the 1st of Dec, so hurry up and get some culture lads and ladettes.

  • Heading down to London tomorrow with folk from my Uni. We are staying in the St. Christopher's Village hostel, Southwark. Any cool bike/clothes shops and bars close by anyone could recommend?

    Cheers!

  • Southwark Tavern on the edge of Borough Market and the George on Borough High St are worth a stop.

  • Come to Soho and visit Tokyo Fixed. You know it makes sense.

  • anyone been on the ghost bus? Black routemaster around the city. Looks OK in a cheesy way, but reviews are mixed. Thanks

  • no but if you go write a little review in here, i was thinking about it

Look Mum No Hands sells bike stuff, clothes stuff and beer stuff, job done.

  • And no, i'm not on commission (though I really should be).

  • ..

  • I'm at uni in Uxbridge, so I don't know much about central london, but the gf and I want to head in and do something different today, anybody got any suggestions, going anywhere interesting? Markets, german stalls, christmassy things, anything that involves walking around and seeing stuff would be great, as I've been inside doing assignments for the last 2 weeks, not even left campus!!! Thanks in advance!

  • do the town lights up and around selfridges in the evening. very lovely

  • Well winter wonderland in hyde park is the obvious one...

  • Hampstead. Go round the heath for a couple of hours, then do a bit of shopping pretending you are a rich type, then find one of the many, many pubs, preferably one with an open fire and not too many annoying locals and stay there until closing time

  • Check out spitalfields or greenwich markets. With greenwich you can walk to the top of the hill there and check out the view a well as walking under the thames if you like that sort of thing

  • Spitalfields, Brick Lane, Columbia Rd Markets and Shoreditch are all close together.

  • Southbank's Winter Festival - really pretty, lots of food and gift stalls. There may even be a show on today.
If you want to be real tourists, go on the London Eye which is there too.

  • Avoid Oxford Street - full of drones seemingly fulfilling their apparent need for tat in the run up to the festive period. Also avoid Knightsbridge - same same but wealthier drones.

As Jammy says - head to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, but be warned - the fairground rides are prohibitively expensive and the mulled wine has the consistency of engine oil.

If you're riding then scoot through to east, Spitalfields/Brick Lane should be infinitely more entertaining this time of year. Ah - make sure you take a lock. Each.

One day Mike you can do this again :)

  • Did he used to be rich then?

  • westfield shopping center.
not been myself but evidently it's full of people worshiping at the church of credit and the weather is nice inside.
