  • This was so funny to watch - my family will not stop on about this for the rest of my life.
Our bowling looks very short of ideas.

  • mooney will be in the England squad soon :-)
top century though, be good if England don't get out of their group so they can have a breather.

+1 i want my moneys worth when they play SL at Lords this summer
(3-7 june) and (ODI 3 july)

  • have a breather!!!! profesional athletes surly!! if England want to be Number one they have to be able to win these tournaments and compete in the tests as well, i think england will come good.

  • yea this is turning out to be a good competition... for a change

fuck yeh! What more delights are to come? Canada to trounce Pakistan tomorrow?

  • Some big scores here... I expected a bit more out of the wickets.

Ever heard of training periodisation and peaks?

Pak are 76-4! But canada are no ireland

  • the inquest has started and not before time..

the england bowlers should be tarred, feathered and paraded around trafalgar sq..

  • perhaps anderson is past it...too old
and broad is either to arrogant or still unwell

  • Ever heard of training periodisation and peaks?

Great! Just what we need, a more scientific approach to professional sport. What about showing some heart!

  • Canada chasing 184.. this will be interesting..
some shocking umpire decisions hawkeye over ruling

  • bangladesh... shakes head.. ho hum..

  • bowled out for 58, really. I do wonder at the point of some of the inclusions in the world cup. That being said I would include Bangladesh, but that was a shit performance of epic proportions.

What would peoples starting 11 be so far?

    1: Dilshan

    1. Ponting

    Erm...

    From BBC text coverage

"England's batting coach Graham Gooch looks haunted up on the balcony, probably by Boycott, the only cricketer who could haunt someone while still being alive..."

    Will the bowling coach smile?

  • That's poor from England.
SA my tip for the WC.
And a barrage of pisstaek from the Boer side of the family on facebook later no doubt.

  • Saffers are looking the goods, but plenty of time for a semi-final choke.

I like Sri Lanka for the cup. Top-quality batting in Dilshan, Sanga and Jayawardene; a genuine wicket-taking quick in Malinga; and the best spin attack going around.

dilshan is nowhere near his 2009 pedigree though. he seems to have got carried away with the hype that he is the new Sanath, and thinks *every *ball is there to be hit, which even SJ never did.

and if the conditions don't favour spin, bowling first, spot of rain, we have no top quality pace to back up Mali. just Kula/Dilhara and Perera/Mathews - nothing to have the good sides worried. spinners can still keep a lid on run rate usually but aren't always gonna get you wickets.

  • would have been interesting to see yesterday's game play out in full. 3 full time spinners. damn rain, hopefully will be dryer in Pallekele

yeah. it was shaping up for an interesting contest. sanga was going beautifully! I reckon your comment above "if the wickets don't spin" is a bit pessimistic - the pitches in SL and India are going to suit spin a lot more than pace!

from an aussie perspective it's a real pain that match was washed out - it means our batsmen won't have had a hit for 2 weeks (in the middle of a tournament, this is ridiculous). could be costly later in the tournament.

Yeah, my boys are looking the goods. Would have beaten the Aussies I reckon.

  • Well I never

  • Another fantastic game!

It's been stressful but awesome following England in the world cup this year...

  • We really need broad
