Watched Precious the other night, really good, Mariah Carey playing the exact opposite of Mariah Carey was excellent, and Mo'nique makes a truly horrifying abusive mother.
Hoping to see True Grit tonight, thought i'd be a cheeky git and ask if any kind, generous soul has an Orange Wednesday code they're not gonna use? It'd be much appreciated.

I enjoyed Precious. Took me an age to realise it was Mariah Carey, thought she was really good too.

Just watched 'the american' I thought it would be shit, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't perfect. Can't put my finger on quite what didn't seem right. clooney scowled the entire way through, maybe that was it. I thought the lighting was good though and the pace was well balanced.

True Grit was quite good. Not amazing, but still entertaining. Bridge's character is enjoyable, not seen the original so i cant really compare the two. It all seemed slightly 'rounded', wasn't any real shocks or usual Coen brothers twists.

Wasted an hour and a half on Cyrus last night. It sounded like it could be funny and I was in no mood for anything aiming at sudo-intellectual-film-thought. No where enough psycho son moments and far too many gushy moments. John C Reilly is way underrated and usually stuck in shit comedies so stupidly I gave it a chance.

Irreversible is a awesome film, baise-moi isn't. But the rape scene in the later is possibly more harrowing, but the screen time of Belucci's rape scene makes it pretty hard to top...
WTF made you think watching that with your mum was a good idea! :S I tend to recommend films that are fairly easy going as I don't want her to keel over from fright/distress/panic. Fire extinguisher?!
She is a big movie fan and although Irreversible is harrowing, it is like you said a good film. We went an watched Animal Kingdom today, amazing. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

Finally finally finally watched Winter's Bone.
Loved it. Slow, charming, subtle. Great characterisation + warm performances. Weird but utterly absorbing setting.
Get on it.

I have it, still not got on it!

winters bone is indeed a thing of beauty. and proves once again that most big name hollywood actors aren't worth a fraction of what they get paid.

it's a load of glossy twaddle. Not even enjoyable glossy twaddle. Started watching it as my better half and her relatives had enjoyed it. Realised after 10 minutes it'd be a load of dog doins'. I have a Liam Neeson aversion anyway. Seems like a CAUC.
Crap company. Great adverts. This one Directed by RR
