I went down that road a few months ago, and was a little shocked by how much the surface had deteriorated. I'll be planning to 'coast' down pretty gingerly, in readiness for an attack on Theydon Mount.
I got the same gear up the 12.5% Coast Hill at the start of the Redhill Sporting the other week, so yeah, should be okay. I think the long drag from the roundabout towards the Tysea Hill juction will hurt more this weekend.
