  • Wibble - I did wonder if you were a young hermaphrodite

    you forgot anorexic..

  • I think the only question you need to ask - which you have essentially answered just by the existence of this thread/your question, is would you have done the same thing if it was some lycra'd up roadie/hipster w/ turnups&beanie hat/agéd audaxer/someone just like yourself?
I think commending someone for simply avoiding doing something stupid is pretty much inherently condescending, tbh. Oh you didn't fall off your bike? Nice move. Oh you didn't ride across a busy junction when the lights were on red? Nice move. etc.
I mean, encouraging sensible riding is a good thing. But it's only the ones who aren't already sensible that need telling about it, and acting all impressed that someone was sensible pretty strongly implies you were expecting them, for whatever reason, to not be sensible in the first place. Which, presumably, is the case for any given 'kind' of cyclist. But as I said at the start, which kinds would you smile at and then notice how they smiled back and then start a thread (in the particular specific sub-forum) on the internet worrying about whether you had been condescending? Basically,

    The answers are:
    Yes
    No
    Maybe

  • which is exactly why I've moved it.

    Is this the green light?

  • It wasn't a smile, it was what psychologists/anthropologists call a 'fear grimace'. As ever, Clive, you disgust me.

i lold so fkin hard i cant even tell you
