  • My crack pipe is never empty.

DHD was released almost a year after the galaxy s so its a second gen chip runnin gthe handset whereas sgs was the first gen of its kind.. Also i dont believe much of the benchmark nonsense, i have handled both handsets, housemates dhd, whilst feels amazing in the hand has an aweful amount of jerk and poor response on the screen...

Ill give you that the galaxy s is built from cheap plastics and feels pretty cheap in the hand but using one is brilliant, handset is so smooth its untrue, granted it wasn't like that out of the box i had to install launcher pro first but thats fine its an app from the market....

either way i still feel that HTC have shafted its users since the hd2 (last one i owned) they have not produced a single handset which is different enough from the others to warrant buying one... and still they are doing it, dhd is a decent handset (although same as hd2 in many respects) and they have released a slew of others pretty much the same but calling them by a different name... Lazy thats all...

Im unsure of what ill get this year as i am already due an upgrade but looks like the galaxy s 2 or one of the new Lg's...

The Galaxy S was released Jun 2010.
The HTC DHD was released Oct 2010.
    "almost a year"?

I've used both phones too and the Galaxy is total rubbish. It's almost unusable in some situations thanks to the now famous Samsung "lag" problem. It might be smooth if it has been rooted and had the lag fix installed. As you can see in the benchmark video, stock they are rubbish. It's not even graphics specifics that let them down, the lag problem ruins the whole user experience. DHD suffers no such problem.

What are you talking about not producing a "different handset"?
Desire, Desire Z, Desire HD, Incredible S are all different, operate differently, hit different price points have different screen sizes, etc. You are complaining because they are calling different products similar names? Are you seriously telling me that's your gripe? You know Porsche have lots of 911 versions right... ?

Anyway, if you want an Android handset HTC are still far superior to Samsung.
